So I’ve come to terms with my addiction. And it comes in the form of a facebook app. No, not that farmville crap. (Thank god). Bejewled Blitz. I used to play bejewled on my phone, back when phones came with games for free. But the Blitz version is where it’s at. Only playing for 60 seconds does a good job of roping you in. And trying to beat your mothers outrageous scores will drive you to sit and play 30 games in a row (I swear she’s found a way to cheat)

I won’t lie… Checking out this site is what comes directly after checking my email and facebook on my daily internet routine. Sometimes I leave the site disgusted, other times with new goals. Regardless, I always leave entertained. This is a site of user submitted text messages, typically dealing with the day after a wild night, but not always. Classified by area code, I’m always hoping some 360′er will post something epic, and bring pride to our humble code. Here’s a sampling of recent postings:

who do I fuck, the girl waiting for me upstairs or her roomate making me mac and cheese right now?? This is the single hardest decision I’ve always wanted to have to make

Welcome to mid-Winter Quarter

It’s been a long time, my dear blog. We are now halfway through winter quarter at Clark College. Almost halfway to the CCNA cert. Doing something we swore we’d never do (end up a military girlfriend). Still jobless.
Sounds pretty damn bleak.
But then there are the positives;
Heading back to bellevue in less than a month, for DECA competition round two. (Second overall at area, not to effin bad)
Hudson’s Bay Student store? Slow at the moment, but still very successful overall.
The boy comes home right after state :]
Road trip to AZ once the quarter ends.

The overall outlook? Not too shabby.

On the 15th, Hudson’s Bay High School lost an awesome, amazing, jedi of a man. Amazing teacher Gordon Patterson was the victim of a fatal hit and run. Both wednesday and thursday there were memorials, both of which I attended. It was beyond heartbreaking. As someone who had never even had him as a teacher, he managed to make a large impact on me, and I can only immagine how much pain those who had gotten to be around him on a daily basis must feel. Patterson, You’ll be missed, and no one will ever forget you.

A $300 Trip to the Bookstore, and Almost A New Year

Oh how I love going to the bookstore. Only there can I drop 300 dollars and not think anything of it, and in fact, be thankfull, knowing that I saverd money by already having three of my textbooks. Command Line Essentials is what did me in. Over $100 for a tome of Windows XP Commands…. Ugh. Thank god I managed to snag an econ book from a friend, and already had all but one of my books for networking. As much as I hate to say it, I’m not looking forward to the new quarter at Clark nearly as much as I was a few weeks ago. The last couple weeks of being a senior in highschool have been lovely. Only having one class, with some awesome people, is great, and spending the rest of the day soley working on making the student store as badass as possible is just as great. Come Monday though, those days will start being filled with classes and college homework

Damn You State Budget Cuts

Ugh. Even as a Running Start student, college is expensive. Yesterday I went to pay Clark College their $160 dollars. And next week I’ll be off to give them more money for my textbooks. All I can say, is that as soon as I’m in real college (off of the safety net of running start), I’m gonna be screwed. Even though I’m only paying fee’s (6.75 per credit + any misc. class specific fee’s) and for my textbooks, the out of pocket cost is pretty high. I guess all I can do is max myself out on credits I get for free as long as possible. I just have to try and ignore the fact that in three short quarters I’ll be paying tuition :/

And for once, I’m pretty excited. Maybe it’s the two week gap between when highschool starts and fall quarter at Clark, maybe it’s because I only have one class at said High school. Who knows? Either way, I’ll have fun stuff to blog about.

Being under the age of 18, and attempting to find a job? Not a good mix. Regardless of skill. Well, unless I’d like to flip burgers at McDonalds… Which I’m trying to avoid at all costs. Though Craigslist had a few promising posts today. Guess I’ll have to wait and see

The Swine Flu

So all I’ve heard the last couple days is “Swine Flu!” “Swine Flu”. I’m kind of a skeptic. The reason being that just like computer virus’s, most highly publicized pandemics don’t really have the catastrophic results that are forecasted. Which, of course is a good thing, but personnaly, I’m not all that concerned about it. Maybe if/when there is a case in the pacific northwest, it will hit me a little harder. Who knows. The only thing that really worried me was the point my mother brought up this morning when we were talking about it this morning; typically when deaths occur from something like that, it is the very young and the elderly, whereas with the swine flu so far, the deaths have been in otherwise healthy, in their prime people. I guess I’ll just have to wait and watch….

A new addiction

Admittedly, I’ve always been a fan of mashups and remixes, but since I fell in love with how six songs collide (courtesy of my handy dandy stumble button), I decided to check out the site that put it out; http://www.mashuptown.com. I’m so glad I did. Going back through their archives, my mp3 collection has been growing rapidly. At the moment I’m listening to a mashup of Run DMC and Eminem. Though smells like teen spirit v. bootylicious is pretty high on my list of favorites too. I’d definitely reccomend checking them out.
